A sweet little two year old boy, whom we know through our church, was recently diagnosed with cancer. Because he would be spending time in the hospital, I made this smaller quiet book for him. It only took about ten hours, and I made the bulk of it in one night while up with a sick child. I'd almost forgotten how much you can accomplish when there's little interruption!
The strip of polka dot fabric across the front is cut from pinwale corduroy. It adds a nice texture. |
The pocket on the left (inside front cover) holds the clothes for the snowman. He also can sport a western outfit! |
The pumpkin opens from the top and holds a variety of mouths and eyes to use for decorating. |
The shapes are matched to a black duplicated image and adhere with velcro. |
The beads are strung on middy braid. The owl's eyes snap on. |
