sneak peak

When I can coordinate with a son to hold up this quilt while a snap a photo, I'll post a picture showing it in its entirety.  In the meantime, here's a little snippet.

grandma's storytime quilt

I made this quilt for a dear friend as a birthday gift.  She is the mother of TEN children and grandma to 15.  If anyone deserves a grandma quilt, it's Kim!
I used the Fairy Tale Friends line by Moda for the quilt front because of my friend's love of vintage/retro.  And the red dot backing fabric was chosen because of her love of all things Disney (doesn't it look like something Minnie would use for her grandchild??).
I quilted it with double stitching just inside the seam line.  Not my best, but fortunately, not my worst.
And here is the quilt all rolled up and ready to mail.  Because it's bigger than a baby quilt yet smaller than a lap quilt, I've decided it's a reading quilt.  I can just see one of my friend's little darlings on her lap wrapped in this quilt while Grandma reads a story.  Happy snuggling!

speedy baby blanket

One yard each of two coordinating flannels + one-third yard of flannel for binding = one speedy baby blanket!!
